Remodeled Raised Ranch Images

The Expendables - An opinion

spoiler-free.

"The boys are back in town ..." rings out from the speakers as we come out of the jam-packed cinema, still blissfully retarded smile on his face and a very good mood.
Hell Yeah, and how they are back!
One would like to get rid of something tearing, or at least your head against a concrete wall, the accumulated power. Yes, the 80s are back and resume our long-lost, Sealed CGI and political correctness, masculine instincts. What has for many years with StirbLangsam4, or even Rambo4 Shoot'em Up The Marine or sometimes more or less successfully announced, and at last the way back to the screen displayed.

Expendables is in no way a film for everyone and to evaluate possible uniform. It is not a film for troubleshooting or people with level and certainly not for the critics. It is for those with the action flick raised by a trip earlier are back. So for us, the brainwashed, lost MTV generation. This course includes in particular the fans of the big action hero who dazzled the cinema, they were forever gone long friends and a very long way together up here.
And of course, Stallone knows about and knows what he has to deliver. So it is also a film for the maker himself, who want to show they still can and it still works.

evaluated in one sentence you would say: It is a film that met expectations.
The Expendables is by no means a film with no errors, it is only one to whom you can forgive them easily.

talk through the plot is not worth mentioning, because it can be with "liberation" put together very well. He plays a South African, fictional island nation and that is good. Stallone is too good a filmmaker to to be drawn to his fire station in the moral debates of the younger, eastern hot spots. Unpleasant is because it is already obvious that Expendables bit bumpy in the plot comes along. It alternates the very fast action scenes with a few quiet moments, just connect the two, unfortunately, in clusters. Especially in the middle part there are many scenes that will explain everything from the history. Only just there to explain little, also the dialogue in these scenes revelation expected to be thin. These scenes are then braced by the sheer presence of the main characters alone. Eric Roberts is just as positively, which is in the purest "over acting" a wonderfully sleazy corporate crooks. And it would not Stallone, Mickey Rourke, which can take small movements without words for a scene in fog, the film would fall hopelessly. As expected, the athletes Couture or Austin or been sighted Jet Li little screen time and dialogue, and even that is a good thing. For their part, it is sufficient muscular and / or angry look. Nevertheless, they also get their big scenes. Stallone knows exactly what kind of people he must work out. I 'm not a fan of Jason Statham, he plays, as always, the transporter. For me the surprise of the film, Dolph Lundgren, even if they contribute to its mission to durchgeknallt limited, but he does this extremely effectively. The sole reason he moved many critics to be the sympathy points for themselves. And as if Stallone factored exactly that he is building a have a surprise in the film.

actionable It is the little, quiet scenes there are, however, that stand out, in which Stallone succeeds with few words and attitudes of the long friendship between the Expendables some sweet melancholy to leave a trace. This situation is starting already excellent Idea in itself, because it directly addresses the audience, who feel so well a kind of bond at the reunion with his hero. Women in the film world, however, no place where it took even not compulsory and completely unnecessary sex scenes to show what a "real" man. Male friendship on the other hand was in Stallone's films, instead, has always been much more in focus. And for that I am grateful.
it is however not the great heroes of Assembly, as that sells the film. It is basically a buddy movie between Stallone and Statham, the former dominated in every minute. For me, a pure Stallonefilm. The other "heroes" have at best a minor role. Only Rourke and Lundgren have rolls of them really any purpose in the film, but this is solely for the support of Stallone's character. Only Statham's character is supported by a subplot about his girlfriend, that the movie plot but basically only disturbs

section, image and sound are excellent with small swabs. The film plays with some interassenten camera angles and driving. The daily scenes the colors are comically powerful in the night covered up the other hand, black on black, which made me skeptical in the trailer, but very good work and extends as optical character through the film.
Special attention was captured the shot noise of weapons, which are also filmed optically accordingly. While this sounds trivial but makes a fetish of arms a good part of the atmosphere, where each slide movement and rotation of the drum is heard. The crash
unmelodiöse modern action movies is finally past. The soundtrack is bombastic, catchy and driving, whipped the audience involuntarily at the height of power and is comfortably far in the foreground. Needless to state here that no electronic beats, but Thin Lizzy or the CCR cycle. No surprises but just exactly what one expects.
The decor is deliberately conservative, partly elected nostalgic, from cars to aircraft and, of course, reflects as the past of the characters resist. The film could still play somewhere between 1980 and 2010. Problems are not solved with electronic spy gadgets, but by fists and deeds.
The explosions - I can not evaluate such a movie without explosions to speak - I have surprisingly little disappointed. On the one hand they lack the "impact" on the other hand, some artificial CGI effects are among them. Shock! Yeah right. Not only that, even blood and wounds occur here only as a CGI effect. Unfortunately, this also applies to many of the orgies of destruction to buildings. And you can see forever. It's not really nice if a hero dives in front of a blue screen like this, where you can see how a computer-animated collapsing stone wall. Why is the effect as cheap or even encouraged, I can not understand for the life. Especially in such important effects in an action movie that would be conventional, or at least more animated, must make.

Enough of unimportant details, we come to the interesting things last. The action itself. The Expendables is a child of modern times, one can see from the extremely fast-cut fight scenes. Unlike other films of the section is so well done that you can reasonably understand what happened, despite the often very dark atmosphere. Nevertheless, the impressions purged quickly one of time that one process can not always what you see. Especially fight when several people in several places. Especially in large, long finish, it can also come schonmal to fatigue when the conventional combat maneuvers repeated offer no new ideas. However, the fighting
act extremely powerful, there are really something on your face, what is the reason why they are effective nonetheless credible (not to be confused with realistic). The result is also relatively harmless stunts a tension that the modern approach to films, in which an attempt is simply to outdo each other with effects, not just longer arise.
And often is: Where violence does not help help more violence. By technique and virtuosity you ask here only in passing, it's always with his head against a wall. This type of body art has been lost in action movies for quite some time. All the acts will sometimes misplaced Jet Li with his fast, fiddly movements, while the Titans around him smashing the skull. But this contrast is in a key scene in the movie made fun of.
alone is struggling to see the old warhorse is basically the end of the film. The violence is depicted so exaggerated laugh that one must never arises disgust, guilt, pity or the like one.

The film is a symphony in black and yellow fire, from a veteran who knows his craft and accurately all the clichés and knows what buttons you must press the target audience, which actually is not easy. I really believe that there are as difficult a good action adventure is to make every other movie, and again we see directors who fail to smile about, and these claims. Despite this cold calculation you realize the fun of the parties and the life-blood that was inserted in each picture. Symbolic of this is the scene between Stallone, Bruce Willis and Schwarzenegger, in which all three tries clearly are to be serious and they realize what they pull off a tosh there.
it was great fun.
And that's basically it will also ignore what all the weaknesses and B-movie elements will also always been dragged along by the genre, and who knows, maybe even this weak Stallone built overlooking the ancient times, a .. .. no, go so far as we want. The film is just pure entertainment and Fanservice, who does not take itself seriously, which was my greatest fear and not bother to Content weaknesses and strives to provide many memorable scenes that made the models of Expendables are unforgettable, but what he often not successful. I believe that the quick cuts to blame, which was so not then known.

I do not know is whether the younger audience understand the impressions of this kind of antiquated action adventure ever, as it seem from today's perspective, such as club and flint must, but that looked like this when there are simple answers to simple claims stated in the Prince Charming has no place, and with luck we will get more of this new, old iconic movies to see.

How To Play Glow In The Dark Dodgeball

D & D 4 games - so how then?

Do you know these situations where a normal conversation under collective insight abruptly changes into a seconds in, helpless silence? Such we had at a recent meeting with a potential, new D & D4 round. It resulted from the realization that to win Wizards of the Coast with their current contact on the Essentials new players a variety of customers had to have overlooked: the role-playing newcomers.

I do not mean good or better role players, but people who have long-term role to play now play now play D & D 4. Specifically, a role player who wants to enter into an existing round and has no material.

The Core Books we could did not recommend in good conscience,

  1. because they are worthless in today's rule as de facto and

  2. because for the same reason no longer reprinted be (so he could get players with future problems).

The essentials we could not recommend him as an alternative but also because they are aimed at complete novices who have never had a role playing game in hand. The most basic rules are there on several sides with concrete play experiences trampled to take the newcomer by the hand (in a way that must be described, for example, what does it mean skill), which is so unsuitable as a reference, as it just kind of goes. Added to this is that the rules would be so simplified, so we were not sure if it with the "updated" to keep land registers at all. The Essentials also offer a wide selection not for the player as it offers the basic books and he also had on any of the simplified basic classes of interest. Not least, we lack the time (months, years?) Wait until the essentials are on the level of information that a beginner at the level of an existing round can play.

is soon coming Rules contains Compendium however my information available to only the rules of the game is as "Player's Guide" and thus not suitable and is rather aimed at Altspieler who want to come up to date, without the right for each question the Monitor set to have.

short, there was no way he started with the existing D & D4 allow players.

Now the question is the issue: What answers Wizards of the Coast has experienced for the role players that show an interest in D & D4, but not like pre-school children want to be treated?

We did not. But we could lend him our basic books.

Kate Underground Hot Shower

D & D4 Essentials wars

I've pushed myself to a D & D4 Essentials comment, there are already too many. But it bothers me when basic things are left out of account in the discussion.

"war - the essence

The war is the fear of the Little
and the indifference of the Great
-. Szaba Nico"

The history of role playing is a konflikträchtige. They told each other of great legends and gruesome horror, as the dragon spears and golden rule books met and giants such as Arneson and Gygax walked on the earth. And the legions of role players stood for everything they hold dear, was the fairness, the challenge and the freedom of play.

Together we have overcome the yoke of Fantastic Realism, have revealed the masquerade of the storyteller. We have fought in the war of the big three, and then endure the uprising of the indie-recognized back to back over us leave. And when the march of the iron ARS shook the role flamewar scorched field, we have not let us down. Now the smoke has cleared the Retroklonkriege still not quite back countless design and corpses on the field it, as already threatens a new conflict is quite different.
There is civil war!
It means no longer us versus them, but role players to role player, brother against brother turns against each other.

In the center of this event are the Dungeons & Dragons Essentials, the new line of Wizards of the Coast to the 4th Edition of D & D. The Essentials are meant as an introduction for newcomers, the first box (yes, there are no more thick rule books) already contains everything you need to play. At least for a short time. More than 10 products across the beginners bit by bit to quote "Pros" trained. The adoption of the designers, if they simplify the game, it would be more accessible. Now, D & D4 has a potential for streamlining, without question, but basically easy to understand. Anyone who looks at the contents of the box provides, however, that it is more about to delete content (or to distribute to many products). A beginner so be less overwhelmed if he only has 4 classes to choose instead of 8 +.
Well, if WotC can find someone with so much patience, I wish you good luck.

But the essentials are to understand more than spark that threatens to tear up the powder keg of the various D & D4 camp. For those who already Play D & D4, it is increasingly difficult to stay up to date. " In Essentials, find all the changes (so-called "Updates") that have been published to date. In parallel, see a "Rules Compendium, which contains all these rules. There will be no new options that are only found in the Essentials for D & D4 "veterans" to bait, hooked by manipulating the red nostalgic design of the box (which is, ironically, adapted in later editions). The alternative, which is provided from official sources available is: You do not have to play it, yes.
Well thank you, too!
zerpfücken Meanwhile, the players against each other over whether the Essentials are a new edition now or not. It is basically played it does not matter by what rule variants will work as long as they. Honestly, I do not care it if the Magic Missile receive automatic maximum damage, must be thrown. WotC would have the Magic Missile emphasize may, it does not matter as long as the game still in the core D & D remains.
I want is that it is set.

is important to understand that it's not about the essentials. It's also not about Erratieren. Errata are a good thing, errors need to be ironed out. Even though me a priori rigorous, thoughtful, infallible rule system would prefer, may is an RPG designer seems to be so much expertise not abverlangen. It is not even a Edition jumps when a system is thus brought to the front. So be it.
It is about the obsessive, pointless change because of change, in order to move players to stay on the ball. Had the Essentials really is a 5.4 I would appreciate it!
An RPG round is a very fragile construct, as it happens in the minds of the players. And that is usually reserved to only one. synchronize this now, so that the players have fun with each other on a shaft can RPG makes one of the most difficult games ever, and fails more often than they worked. A strong, constant control system can help the round to keep together. Only when this changes every few weeks, it is itself the factor of uncertainty.
provoked Basically every major update, the splitting of individual groups of D & D players and it harms the role play as a whole. Who plays with whom the rules by which, who knows that already have? The argument, "You must not use the changes yes" has no meaning in reality, can be easily guessed (unless most of the players play the unchanged 1st edition, a naive assumption - I do this way, as far as is possible) .
Even though I disagree because many, I have experienced this in D & D 3.5 not so sprawling.

D & D runs off his own players. Especially those you can not operate as a hobby work week, but want to play quickly and easily and without much effort RPG. D & D4 suitable for this purpose more than the two predecessors.
cured without D & D Insider account is now really in work on the cutting edge to stay and I assume it's intention. And here at last is lost the argument in the trial of the beginner-friendly function to generate the customer. Not to participate no later then degenerates into problems when one wants to read strategy guides on the Internet or merely wants to chat with other players (except 4.0 on the topic vs. 4.5). Not to mention when it does play whatever material world to the latest version to date.
My D & D4 now acts as my PC, it is outdated before I brought it home, and to be the slow, a hobby such as role-playing game is not easy. I will also play some point and time do not deal consistently with regular updates. And the prospect of hanging back is not very enticing. The lack of promotional material for the 4th Edition date - and I'm an avid hobbyist who the previous D & D 4 posts read - could also arise. What rules should also make something so that it can use other players? This can also be intention.

WotC would do well the strong foundation of D & D4 expand, rather than reinventing every week. What remains after the metaphor-filled, overly long text? What can we do anyway? WotC has applied the D & D 4 players against each other and count to rank among the most tenacious D & D fans.
Congratulations!
But WotC is against which we must face. Let us not argue about Magic Missiles or monster damage, but we show that are not repaired, what is not broken. What D & D is still holding together the print product, not the PDFs or online accounts. They provide a stable base for the creative exchange dar. I say it reluctantly, but the next Compendium can be as a new breakpoint. Let's stop the civil war going towards the sake of peace one step further and are joining with the Compendium on this new basis and apart from genuine error correction is then fixed point of this rule, so that we can finally understand each other. We are together but not so stupid of us to have to show WotC flimsy arguments. You do not join any number Dreher, because of a need to be reminded WotC apparently: In a pinch
WE can play well without it D & D!
