Mens Thong Vs Jockstrap

movie: Robin Hood 2010 - The opinion

I am once again fallen into the trap of high expectations, it was Robin Hood but a safe box. Gladiator in tights, what can go wrong? The film joins seamlessly but in the long 'is' ok' series of movie blockbusters of the last 10years one. Slowly it becomes tiring and you'd like to have a memorable look block-buster.

Out of this disappointment, because I have long and like to formulate my opinion on movies, am a loyal but critical viewers of Hollywood blockbusters, I put maybe one or the other Kurzrezi between the posts.

The film has a grand entrance, then a tough middle section and a short, undramatic, battered by the end.
It's not really about the legend of Robin Hood, except for the decisive play with the Merry Men for example a minor role and their appearance only extended playing time (the film runs 2 1 / 2 hours). Instead, it's about as to the situation of Robin Hood (Forest-Sheriff Prince) comes. And this bow is pulled totally out of two hours, to him, then at the end construct within minutes deal, making the preliminary skirmishing was largely unnecessary. A real long bow (Schenkelklopfer). The actual plot is laid out much larger and it's right around the whole of England and the war against France. It then again historical facts (and technologies) are fictitious and changed. Interpretation means the most today. Man jumps from time to time at different locations, to France or to the royal court in London, the important people in very important things to discuss, so as to create epic and size, but fails every time at the small-mindedness of the film. There are dozens of people illuminated in more detail in separate scenes that are irrelevant to high to Richard the Lionheart but really all. The nations spanning story culminates in a miniature invasion of England, each of the hunting party of the English king as a giant orc army would make it look. And then there is shit sometimes brazenly, the D-Day scene from Private Ryan stolen.
be
But at the same time repeatedly Robin (+ Marian) dragged into the center deteriorates, the whole war, including a subplot intrigues, while the film in the middle part with absolute trivialities staying. One wonders again why you have seen a scene or just annoyed that you get information that even 20min. later and play until the end do not matter. The plot is basically just a patchwork of scenes, which were several revisions of the script have.
The movie makes a slow pace, as only rarely in blockbusters get to see what I eligible capital at him. Stupid thing is that the makers have forgotten how to properly use this slowness and filled with interesting scenes.

was expected, Crowe miscast, maybe he also plays poorly (actually, he does not play), although I see him so happy and nice find. Perhaps it is because he in the movie might have only 10 words of text. But as he in 90% of the quiet, low-action scenes, dialogue occurs (and there are far more than action scenes), then set it on a lengthy affair.

the other actors play good but they are especially Blanchett (Marian) and Max von Sydow (Baron Loxley) convincingly, and the rollers also up mainly in the supporting roles well cast, but is just now Prince John as Latin Over cut that is to be an Englishman and not a bit busy to understand, and nor is inappropriate as Crowe to Oscar Isaac. Invented by the new villain who runs round somewhere between Vader and darh Damodar , on the one does not know and has no drive, not to mince matters. No memorable performances à la Alan Rickman should be recorded here.

Very well done, the equipment and the fight scenes, but as expected today, so also nothing more. As positive, the pleasant traditional soundtrack with catchy melodies and strings should be emphasized that a little 'old school' spray Adventure Spirit. There is surprisingly little obvious CGI (mostly in panoramas and I can forgive it). You tried obsessively to reconstruct the imperfect, muddy gray look of rainy Saturday afternoons of the 80's, early 90's films (as quoted in Kostner's Robin Hood), who somehow seemed more "authentic", but never was, and by the even children's movies like the Blair Witch Project worked, what they then unfortunately artificial by much too much have made lighting and filter broken. Since then Kevin Kostner also helps the memory no longer extension. It will play on the green lawn, but looks like most of the studio. Equally divided songwriter in the Middle Ages representation, ranging from pseudo-authentic, camp and village life set, adult actors, to comic relief, oneliners, superheroes and parties.

short, the film could be between Kostner (King of Thieves) and Mel Gibson (Braveheart) and Crowe himself (Gladiator) do not decide. And against all three, he loses.
It would be better the original story had been in a constant style and memorable people consistently again follow through.

I WILL find the movie very well and like him, for he illuminated moments and here and there HAS flashes on the soul, but suffice it to a satisfactory only what is really annoying. He was so bumpy in speed and so ambiguous between great and botch that one does not know what to make of it.
If this film but again only have been a platform for practice, because the film belongs to exactly where you would like to start to see, I would probably fall into the trap again.

D & D4 criticism

... or D & D4 is an RPG?

Just boil again in Tanelorn the already highly distressed discussion about whether D & D4 is a role playing game. In short: That's it. At least not more or less than the many narrative games, the mechanisms of the Coast Wizards have in part may be influenced.

However, it comes in the wake of discussions - more action - often to misunderstandings. And even though I belong more to those who the 4th Edition well in many areas better than the previous two editions do not think I can understand the criticism well. Since I am basically for RPG criticism openly, I would like a major criticism also is properly understood. In any case, just as I do after stringing-over-talk in many D & D4 discussions perceive:

The biggest mistake I think, is that the D & D4 criticism will be made frequently to the character battles. The rules were based too much on battles that are played on a board with box. Rightly then the advocates of D & D4 argue that this in the previous two editions have just had. This is what this criticism is not about the characters or the box itself, but how these are implemented in the fourth edition, for the under scheided fundamentally from the earlier editions. The fights are not as action oriented as before. It allows his character to function not by the rules, but it deflected often with the help of the rules, only the experiences of the character. The difference is most noticeable fact that the impact of the rules in the game world explained until much later. The Mittdendringefühl for the character, of course, is often lost, especially if it is action-oriented usual.

An example would be the famous Encountermanöver the combat classes. Such a Encountermanöver can use a player once per fight, then again until the next battle (If enough time has passed between them). There is usually no reason why the fighters could not use the Encountermanöver several times, finally, there are only a few cuts and bites. In retrospect, this can be interpreted to mean that the fighters had opportunity to apply this maneuver only once.

This has nothing to do with "by" the character in the game world to act, but to control its history. This lends the character fights (not to be confused with play like a board;) above all, a board game-like feel).

In 3.Edition and before was fundamentally different, as a rule set is usually an act of nature and the effects have been seen directly, even on the board with the box. Almost all editions are board-heavy, but only in the 4.Edition they also act as an abstract board game.

This is an important point of criticism that I share completely. Therefore, D & D4 is still an RPG and a good idea, but just different. For this reason, I associate with D & D4 also more of a love-hate relationship, because I appreciate the sophistication and functionality of the whole lot, but at the same time curse the play style change, because I can no longer be a FIG present, but only for "here", and how to tell them a bit more experienced. make

And the more radical D & D4 players, it is sometimes easy to ignore this point and quash the discussion so that it would go alone to the Spielbrettlastigkeit.

the radical D & D4 critics on the other hand, however, is more concerned D & D4 to disqualify a role play, as their point to make really understand. I already feel that some are not even aware of what exactly they interfere in the system because they realize the game is that it is "different".

AmBesten you go then, go to either hype out of the way and the situations to look sober. I understand that D & D4 an RPG that few old D & D players' needs and regret the change in style of the Wizards also, but it is to give as a resourceful role player is no reason for this much more elaborate and Catchy game (the Skill Challenges solely be the exception), if you know help is only the narrative-heavy page of D & D4 easily removed, as some creative minds show again and again.

House rules have in D & D and role-playing tradition. What prevents us from applying it here, especially since many use 3.5 players certainly more house rules in their laps as they are ready to use in D & D4? The already 3.5 and earlier also many concrete difficult to interpret rules have (eg hit points) and D & D4 to pursue a more stringent concept is, at this also ignores you.

How To Remove Bearings From Metal Core Wheels

understand What in the world ... is a Tsingy?

I've re-browsed and searched in order to provide match officials perplexed and hobbyists world varied modules that can be aufpeppeln a fantasy game world, authentic.
What in the world ... is a series of articles that I at irregular intervals (about 1 time per month to write) when the time comes to present unusual geological phenomena and to show that one can not wander so far into the high fantasy has to a much more colorful, more varied world here to find us.

As always, I refrain as much as possible on direct Einbdingung of images to save me copyright issues. It is still worth extraordinary to look at the pictures.

Tsingy de Bemaraha - The stone forest

space: [about 1500 km ²]
Occurrence: In regions with calcareous rock mass under the influence of groundwater and heavy rain.
potential danger: [less dangerous]
time scale: [Recent]
Climate: [sub-humid or arid]

What is the Tsingy?
In Malagasy, this is an abbreviation and it means "go on the toes" like. It is a geomorphological feature in the west of Madagascar in the National Park Tsingy de Bemaraha. Much is the catchy name of stone Forest, where we then were almost back at the RPG.
Both terms are apt, it is still an approximately 1500 km ² large, flat karst landscape, which is crossed by a few meters wide clefts, which can be up to 120m deep and sharp edges and points are marked. In the background there is a lot of one hundred kilometers extending caves, narrow gorges, natural bridges and a variety of different Verkarstungensformen be relinquished to the surface.

Created As the stone forest?
(not Simulationisten can also skip)

actually requires two things: the right stone and the right weather conditions. In reality, everything is as always of course much more complicated, but once we regard only these two conditions.
The area of the stone forest is deposited in shallow reef limestone about 400 m thickness established. This community was founded in Jurassic about 150 million. Years ago, when Madagascar separated from Africa Koninent. The limestones were deposited as organic limestones, reef limestone, the term refers specifically to the thickness of the layer of rock. and at a low porosity. The climate of Madagascar is located in the tropical zone and is of moderately high rainfall, cyclones and characterized.

Under these conditions created a karst landscape, as in Bemaraha National Park in the past million years. In karst meant the dissolution and weathering of carbonate rocks (including sulfates and salts) by carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide produced by the in the Atmosphöre located CO2, which dissolves in water. It should be noted that the karst underground to a large extent done by the groundwater.

karst landscapes in our country are also widespread, with the conditions in Madagascar but makes more are on the one hand the mentioned heavy rains and the orientation of the cracks in the rock. However, the stone forest is not unique, find similar landscapes in New Ginea, Kenya, Brazil and China, as the Shilin (Chinese for stone forest, who would have thought it?), which is also exposed to the monsoon.

If we still lacking in detail. The Tsingy runs north of the Manambolo river, the landscape has (or had) so a high water table. If you look closely at the history of fractures, quickly notice that this mainly either from NE to SW or perpendicular to run from NW to SE (the directions have something to do with the tensions to which the rock was exposed to what we do not have to go).

(Aerial view of Tsingy de Bemaraha. Good to see is the parallel course of the fractures in two main directions, Photo: Stephen Alvarez / National Geographic)

These fractures were not due to the karstification, but existed previously as a barely visible cracks in the rock. The water could enter from underneath as ground water, as well as up during the heavy rains and so the cracks by Solution of the rock show ever.
could also penetrate the water layer in the former borders of the limestones that were deposited once like a stack of paper over each other and corrode the rock horizontally.

(Lateral karstification in Tsindy de Bemaraha. At about running these vulnerabilities barely visible , Source: Laurent Evain, www.weezgo.com)

The karstification thus finds in the interior of the limestone, as at the surface, rather than simultaneously. The following are
comic chart some development steps of the Tsingy fractures easy to understand illustrated, the images are respectively read from left to right:

http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/2070/grikeentstehung.jpg
(Scheme of different mechanisms of gap formation by karstification, Source: Márton Veress et.al. 2008)

Each of these stages can be found in the landscape again and the broader and deeper, the older are the fractures. The rain water means that on the surface of the characteristic, sharp ridges formed, as explained in the following graph:

(burr by rain water in the Ankarana Tsingy, Veress et.al 2008)

properties (and dangers) of the stone forest

addition to the above-mentioned sharp ridges may be mentioned especially the invisible dangers. The corroded limestone can be unstable in many places. Not least developed many of the fractures in which the thin ceiling of a cavity inside broke. The same goes for the remaining natural bridges.

http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/4964/natrlichebrcke.jpg
(Natural Bridges in Tsingy de Bemaraha, which are caused by corrosion of the lower camp, Veress et.Al.2008)

During heavy rains, the deep fissures can also quickly fill with water, tearing and pose a deadly trap for anyone to the base of the fractures wandering.
the fractures themselves can be extremely narrow and their accessibility may change from meters to yards.

form together they network that where you can get lost quickly. The dimensions of the fractures range from a few centimeters to a few tens of meters wide and a few meters to 120 meters or more in depth.

(At the bottom of the Grand Tsingy, Tsindy de Bemaraha National Park, Photo: Megan Kearney)

The water balance of the area can, despite the tropical climate, very dry because the water can quickly run into the cracks and the rock is porous and barely getting back virtually no water. In fact, would not a karst landscape with large porosity form that the very rocks would soon be resolved completely. Consequently, it is
little flora and fauna. Between the clefts may thrive sogennnter a dry forest well. Dry forests are similar to savannah forests or thorn forests and are home to more robust shrubs and trees, the bizarre shapes can form.

are used in role play

For the game master stone forests, restricted by its room of origin, which lies mainly in the tropical zone, above all interesting for the decoration of exotic countries. That being said, the emergence of relatively free conditions, so long as one of the important parameters (massive limestone + bad weather and high groundwater) holds.
When traveling, it may be a tempting short cut to go into the gap of a stone forest maze, or even on the peaks to hike, where you are exposed to local hazards.

Many of the fractures are also not up to the surface corroded, so that the resulting complex cave systems. Below the map of the cave in the Tsingy Anjohy Tsilika area that I have been driven out of a paper and is ideal as a natural vault card for the role play. Immediately striking is how the course the plan structure of the rock follow (NE-SW, NW-SE). It lacks only a few goblins.

(a walk, narrow gap in the Tsingy, Source: http://alvarezphotography.com/) Note

is that one formation process location and must be kept separate. A stone forest can be much older than the climate that led to its creation. A stone forest can now be even in the midst of a dry zone, the development process is then not continued and the hazards eg drop off traveling through rain water flows, but the gaps may ensure protection for all communities offer, in which the inhabitants of their homes on the base of the shadow offered fractures have carved into the limestone walls. Imagination is, as always, limitless, without, that we must break the plausibility. For hobbyists
world was still noted, is important to know that once were accessible Massenkalk former (flat) sea floor, which was raised to the surface (see the Alps). This should be a world hobbyist in mind To keep depending on how exactly you draw up the history of his world.
